Next up...

Well, summer's quickly ending here real soon. How about a bike ride, even if it's a short one (like 5 miles or so)? Or maybe a hike and something to eat at Applebee's.

I'm even up for a hot air balloon ride early some Saturday in the next few weeks, if we could find one.

I know there are balloons going out of Newberg, OR early in the morning.

And here's a local outfit in Ridgefield - Morning Star Flights - that costs about the same but is a lot closer and Southwest-Washington-"home-grown".

I would LOVE to do this! And we can even arrange for lessons on getting the balloon(s) ready, too!

Red- and pink- hatters in the sky!

Let me hear back from some of you as to what you'd like to do to end the summer!

Charlie and the IMAX

Three of us went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the OMSI IMAX last Tuesday night.

Here we are: Beth, Lois, Linda

The theater is awesome and the movie played well on the huge IMAX screen.

It was a nice, relaxing evening and I wish more of you could have been there!

Until the next Red Hat experience!

Last Concert of the Outdoor Season 2005

The Vancouver Symphony was excellent last night. The orchestra was terrific and the music was awesome. Click here to go to their website.

They ended the evening with a Duke Ellington medley and then played all the "theme songs" for the American military - Anchors Aweigh, The Marine's Hymn - and the others. The vets from each branch stood up when their song was played.

It was a nice evening with great weather and the most amazing company! There were a number of other Red Hat Women there also. Got a photo of a bunch of them sitting right in front of us that I'll post as soon as I get it.

On to the next adventure!

Signing off for now....

Not exactly on the list of "wild adventures" but it'll be a fun time, none-the-less, since anywhere we show up will be great!

6 PM - 8 PM

Bring your chair or blanket and your dinner or buy something to eat at one of the concessions (Tommy O's is my favorite!).

We'll meet on the grass near the shaved ice concession stand which is usually on side walk on the east side of the grassy area where everyone sits.

It's August and summer's almost over...

We have a few more days of summer, maybe even a few weeks. We have time for some outdoor activity - anyone want to email me with a suggestion?

This past Thursday there was an awesome band at the Six to Sunset concert in Esther Short Park in Vancouver. The next concert is August 11th with 5 Guys Named Moe. The following week is the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. These concerts are 6 - 8 PM and there are several food vendors available. If you're interested in going, let me know. Grab a lawn chair and a couple of bucks for dinner and meet me down there.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is playing at the OMSI on the IMAX over in Portland. Looks like there's a 7:00 PM showing in the evenings. Let's go some evening after work. We can all meet there and if you're up to it, go get a bite to eat afterwards at some place like White Eagle.

I'm ready for a Red Hat evening! Let's go, girls!!
